You know Christmas isn’t too far away when Thor’s tipi bar pops up in the middle of the city, right?
This month, the canvas tipi is back in the Peace Gardens, and it’s better than ever, with new drinks menu and street food offering.
Opening on 22 November from 6pm until 31 December, expect the two linked canvas tipis and outdoor heated area to be your city centre winter retreat for the next few weeks.
With wooden tables and benches, cosy furs and an open fire pit, soak up that Viking hygge with a hot drink to warm your cockles.
Last year, the attraction which plays on Yorkshire’s Viking heritage attracted more than 50,000 visitors.
This year, you’ll find one of Sheffield’s best-loved street food vendors, The Gravy Train serving up its classic poutine-inspired menu in the heated outdoor area.
From November, the bar will also introduce a range of exciting new lagers, pale ales and Guinness, and will of course be pouring old favourites like mulled wine and hot cider, too.
As well as soft drinks, teas and coffees, there’ll also be a new range of flavoured hot chocolates, with the option to pimp out your hot choc by adding a shot of ‘Salted Karamel Vodka’ or ‘Rhum Orange’.
“We are really excited to be returning to Sheffield and are confident that this year will be even more spectacular with our fantastic new menu. We truly believe Christmas starts here with our unique atmosphere under twinkling canvas. Friends, family and even dogs are welcome.” Maria Farrugia, co-founder of THOR’s
So whether you’re taking a break from Christmas shopping, or you want to soak up the atmosphere in the warmth and enchantment of the tipi, THOR’s is your spot!
“THOR’s has become a very popular and anticipated part of Sheffield’s festive programme, complementing the vibrant offer available throughout our city centre. Opening just after our Christmas lights switch-on, THOR’s cosy atmosphere certainly makes it feel like Christmas has arrived in the Peace Gardens and we look forward to welcoming visitors to enjoy this festive experience.” Councillor Mary Lea, Cabinet member for Culture, Parks and Leisure at Sheffield City Council.
THOR’s tipi bars will also be popping up in York, Leeds, Lincoln, Brighton and London over the Christmas season.
THOR’s tipi bar will be open from 12-11pm daily from 22 November until 31 December 2018 (closed on Christmas Day). Learn more about THOR’s at www.thorstipi.com.
