Bungalows and Bears is relaunching, with three days of evening events worth hanging about after work for., starting on 30 November.
The Division Street bar has been closed for refurbishment since 8 November and will reopen on Thursday 30 November, it’s the first time the bar has been closed since it open in 2006.
On Thursday from 5:30pm, New York Brass Band will be performing a live set of raucous, brass -led party tunes with support from the Sheffield University Samba Band, and Mess Your Hair Up DJs will be playing until late. To give customers a taste of what’s to come, there will be free tasters from the bar’s new menu and pop up bars from Copper Dog Whisky and Lagunitas Brewing Co.
On Friday 1 December, Bungalows and Bears’ Early Doors Social returns. The perfect start to the weekend, the Early Doors Social runs every Friday from 5pm – 8pm with DJ Lionel Vinyl playing soul, funk, reggae, electronica and more. It’s 100% vinyl, and 100% a great spot to enjoy your Friday evening.
Continuing the relaunch celebrations, London-based Afriquoi return to Sheffield on Friday to play a live DJ set with Gambian Kora and Djembe. They’ll be joined by local collective La Rumba, who throw huge Latin American-inspired parties around Sheffield. Expect carnival vibes till late!
On Saturday, Bungalows and Bears is going to disco town with disco and remix legend The Reflex. A true master of the decks, Saturday will be an evening of remixes of disco classics from the likes of Michael Jackson and Earth, Wind and Fire. He’ll be joined by Saul’s Sessions, who put on parties across Sheffield, and Mess Your Hair Up DJs.
