Say hello to 2019 in style this year, as Sheffield city centre comes alive for another night of looking back - and more importantly - looking forwards to the fresh new slate that awaits us.

Find out where we rate for spending your final hours of 2018 in Sheffield city centre, below.

Magid's New Year's Eve Magic, Plug, Matilda Street, 9pm, £6

What better way is there to bid good riddance to 2018 than by raising money for important causes while also getting your dance on at Lord Mayor Magid Magid’s very own shindig?!

That’s right, Dr. Martens-clad Magid Magid will be hosting his own night at Plug this NYE, with the aim of raising funds for Sheffield Flourish, Sheffield Women’s Counselling and Therapy service and the Unity Gym Project.

You’ll celebrate ‘all things Sheffield’ listening to live performances from some of the freshest talents, including Sheffield Poet Laureate Otis Mensah, Steve Edwards, Siobhan Gallagher, Franz Von and loads more (even more to be announced at a later date). Head down for multiple rooms filled with live music, party bangers and the countdown to 2019 with the man himself.

Nab your tickets to the party of the year here.

Sidney & Matilda, Sidney Street, from 12pm

New creative space Sidney + Matilda has big plans for NYE at its place. We’re on tenterhooks to hear what’s planned! For now, keep an eye on the Facebook event and get excited for its Christmas festive film marathon!

New Year’s Eve at Pitcher and Piano, Holly Street, from 12pm

Expect good vibes only at Pitcher and Piano’s first ever NYE in Sheffield. With free entry, DJ sets from 7pm and live saxophonist from 10pm, celebrate the corker of a year you’ve had tucking in to a NYE set menu – maybe crack open a bottle of prosecco for £15 – you’ve gotta toast, right? Keep an eye on the Facebook event for more information, or call 0114 303 4840 to book your set menu.

Fine dining at Browns, St. Pauls Parade, £39.95

Enjoy five luxurious courses and a Bellini cocktail at Browns this New Year’s Eve as the brasserie transforms into its 1920s prohibition theme. Stay tuned for menu details and more!

Musicals before Midnight, Showroom Cinema, Paternoster Row, 7:30pm

Love musicals? Showroom has your dream night planned – watch one of four fab musicals before heading to the after-party in the bar for food, fizz and music.

This movie marathon is a homage of sorts to the musical, showing The Greatest Showman (Sing-a-long), The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Mary Poppins Returns and Les Demoiselles de Rochefort.

Whether you’re a hardcore musical fan or you just fancy a bit of a sing-a-long with P.T. Barnum, kick off your NYE with a little bit of musical magic before welcoming 2019 in with great food and tunes from Showroom’s resident DJ at it’s New Year’s Eve party.

All musicals are regular Showroom ticket prices (book here). Entry to the bar is free for everyone.
