As Sheffield gets ready to welcome in 2018, restaurants, bars and clubs across the city are gearing up to throw some of the biggest parties of the year. Here are five suggestions for where to spend New Year’s Eve in Sheffield city centre.
Forum + Common Room + The Devonshire
With three venues on Devonshire Street, True North Brew Co is throwing a huge New Year’s Eve spectacular at Forum, Common Room and The Devonshire this year, and just one wristband will get you into all three bars.
Register online and you’ll be able to collect your free wristband from Forum between 9am – 5pm from 27 – 31 December. With a wristband you’re guaranteed entry and queue jumps to all three sites, True North ales and Pilsner for £2.50 and £5 cocktails all night.
See the new year in the Cuban way at Cubana tapas bar in Leopold Square, which is offering tapas feasts, live music and DJs until 3am this New Year’s Eve. From 5pm, join Cubana for a tapas feast in the upstairs restaurant and enjoy live music from the likes of Emily Clare West and Dee Dee until 2am.
Downstairs enjoy a fiesta of funky beats from DJ Ckastley (El Rey Del Zongue) and DJ Chris Welch (Sounds Like This) until 3am. Tickets are £5 on the door or in advance from Cubana. Those enjoying the New Year Tapas Feast will get free entry.
Join Vodka Revolution in West One this New Year’s Eve for dancing and drinks from 4pm. With Jack Opus headlining on the decks expect the best party Revolution has seen all year.
Entry is free all evening, but buy a guestlist wristband or make a booking to jump the queues. There are options for all budgets when it comes to buying a guestlist wristband - from £10, which will get you VIP entry, two drinks, a shot of Revolution’s flavoured vodka and a glass of prosecco on arrival. There are also options to book a booth, get in touch with Vodka Revolution on 0114 273 9469 to book.
From 6pm on New Year’s Eve, join The Botanist for an evening of live music, gin and cocktails as the Leopold Square bar teams up with Hendrick’s Gin to bring in the new year.
Dine between 6pm – 6:30pm or 9pm- 9:30pm and each guest will receive a free Hendrick’s gin and tonic, book at 9pm, and you’re guaranteed your table for the rest of the evening. Book online at http://thebotanist.uk.com/locations/sheffield/book-online.
Bungalows and Bears
Bungalows and Bears predicted the world would end at the last New Year’s Eve. Thankfully, the bar’s predictions were wrong, and after a huge refurbishment in November, is ready to celebrate the new year with a jungle themed party with Mess Your Hair Up.
Expect rainforest décor, animal fancy dress and a soundtrack of funk, soul, disco, jungle (obviously) and maybe even the occasional song from The Jungle Book soundtrack. Celebrations kick off at 8pm and entry is free.
