OhCoBookClub: Everything Under, BrewDog Sheffield, 4 September, 7pm

Another instalment of the Oh Comely book club, this time hosts BrewDog will be offering pizza and your first drink as part of your £5 ticket price. Come and discuss Daisy Johnson’s ‘Everything Under’, a debut novel telling the intriguing story of Gretel and her estranged mother of 16 years. Book your tickets now and get reading!

The Leadmill Comedy Club, The Leadmill, 5 September, 7pm

Back at it for an evening of hilarity, see some fresh new talent on the UK comedy scene at The Leadmill this Wednesday. The perfect way to get over hump day, watch star of Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Roadshow and The John Bishop Show, Tom Stade as he headlines the night, which promises to be a corker. NTL: ‘Julie’, Showroom Cinema, Thursday 6 September, 7pm

Broadcast live from the National Theatre’s Lyttelton theatre, this brand-new production, directed by Carrie Cracknell, sees Julie (Vanessa Kirby) throw a late-night party after becoming recently single. Julie, having initiated a power game with Jean (Eric Kofi Abrefa), struggles with the savage fight for survival that ensues. A modernised version of August Strindberg’s play ‘Miss Julie’, its setting in contemporary London shows how fiercely relevant the play remains to this day. Book your (limited) tickets now!

Kirtan, Unity Yoga Sheffield, 7 September, 7pm

This free event aims to reconnect you with the meaning of yoga through the medium of song and sound. Kirtan is a devotional song based on ancient chants or mantras, often aimed at an Indian deity. Although hosted by Elly, the stage will also be open to anyone who would like to share their music. No prior experience of yoga is necessary! Reserve your place ASAP.

Endless Love Creative: Life Drawing Workshop, Union St., 7 September, 6:45pm

Now in it’s 11th edition, Endless Love Creative’s Fashion and Figure Drawing night will focus on ‘The Unnameables’, an art installation from Hannah Jean Moulds. “See it’s take-over of the one space at Union St with long furry arms and legs”. Draw model Salomee in various different poses with the artwork, trying different techniques, having some creative fun. Hang out with new friends with a glass of wine or non-alcoholic refreshment (included in the ticket price) on a Friday night. Art supplies and paper will be provided. Nab your spot, quick!
