Head to Crucible Corner on Tudor Square for an evening discovering some of Sheffield’s hidden talents in the form of various musicians, poets and comedians from in and around the city. For entertainment, great food and drink and good vibes, check the Facebook event.
Monty Python’s Spamalot, The Montgomery, 16 May, 7:15pm
Lovingly ripped off from the film classic Monty Python and The Holy Grail, see the outrageous new musical comedy, Spamalot, which premieres in Sheffield on Wednesday. At £15 for an evening of hilarity and Tony Award-winning theatre, you’ll need to book your tickets ASAP.
Hard British Cheese Tasting, Tamper Sellers Wheel, 16 May, 7pm
Homage2Fromage are back once again with another cheese-filled evening - this time focussing on the fromages that haven’t travelled very far at all – British. Try eight different UK cheeses (alongside the usual trimmings of fresh local breads, crackers and chutneys) and feel a little patriotic while chowing down on some of our country’s finest. Gin & Rum Festival, Trafalgar Warehouse, 18 May, 6:30pm
The UK’s first Gin and Rum Festival tour is coming to Trafalgar Warehouse! There you’ll have a choice of over 60 different Gins and 60 different Rums to set your taste buds to, as well as live music entertainment, street food stands and talks from Gin and Rum buffs from some of the world’s best distilleries. Tickets are only £10!
Sheffield Chamber Music Festival, various locations, 11-19 May
Music in the Round launches its nine-day Chamber Music Festival in the city on 11 May, with more great music and more guest artists than ever before. The Crucible Studio Theatre will play host to numerous performances, and offer a unique listening experience, as audiences sit ‘in-the-round’ just a few feet from performers.
